SCORE

SCORE is a national volunteer organization, run under the auspices of the Small Business Administration. It provides confidential business counseling and low-cost entrepreneurial training workshops and seminars to small business persons, both visionary start-ups and existing firms. In addition, there are "virtual" counselors, providing Internet counseling directly from their homes or offices.

SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" is a nonprofit association dedicated to educating entrepreneurs and the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide. SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

SCORE is headquartered in the nation's capital and has 389 chapters throughout the United States and its territories, with 10,500 volunteers nationwide. Both working and retired executives and business owners donate time and expertise as business counselors. SCORE was founded in 1964.

SCORE is America's premier source of free and confidential small business advice for entrepreneurs. As a SCORE Volunteer, you will:

  • Be a leader in the effort to provide real-world assistance to small businesses.
  • Gain fulfillment by sharing your business experience and expertise with a new generation of entrepreneurs.
  • Build relationships with local business leaders and provide economic growth and employment opportunities in the local area.
  • Connect with entrepreneurs through counseling, or share you knowledge at SCORE's entrepreneurial training workshops.
